Tuesday with the Team

Category

Hello crafty friends! Tracy McLennon here, and today I have a pretty little card to share and a few little step by step tips on simple colouring technique. The stamps and coordinating dies are from Picket Fence Studios. The Que Sera, Sera collection.Β  Here are all of the details. Step one is to stamp the images you would like to use onto white cardstock using Ranger Jet Black Archival Ink. Now I gathered the colours that I wanted to use on my images. A little trick of mine, is that I keeping the backing from my favourite Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L Foam Squares. They can be used as blending surfaces. I always have a little pile of them at my desk for just this purpose. Often when I am colouring I like to add colour straight to cardstock in the areas where I want the colour the darkest. Here is…

Kim here today! Welcome to another Tuesday With The Team! I’m excited to share my project and technique, it’s a process that I find to be really satisfying and the results keep making me happy! I LOVE making mono prints using my Ranger Gel Plates and all sorts of acrylic paints. I can get lost in creative play for hours during this process and life stress just melts away. When I make my prints, I most often use plain computer paper, the finished page is thin, which I like! I take my favourites and scan them into my computer, this allows me to use them in so many ways. I will often print four to a page on a nice sturdy card stock, they are perfect for card bases! I store them all in a ziplock bag and pull them out often for card making and mixed media projects. For…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a couple of cards made with the Stitched Flower Bouquet set and other assorted Impression Obsession dies and stamps.Β  Isn’t that Nutella stamp a hoot?Β  πŸ™‚ There are 14 dies in the Stitched Bouquet set.Β  Mix and match them with other dies such as the pinked edge frame for a very versatile and elegant look. I suppose you could snip the dies apart, but I find that it’s easier not to lose the little guys if you keep the die set in one piece.Β  Also, if you cut a bunch of flowers at one time, use them to make multiple cards. For this card, I cut my flower bouquet out of specialty paper from Tonic Studios.Β  The mirror and glitter cardstock is so pretty and it just makes the card so much fancier! Thanks for stopping by today!Β  Hopefully, you are inspired to go…

Hello crafty friends! Tracy here and today I have a pretty little card to share today featuring Gateway Dies and the Cascading Wisteria collection from Heartfelt Creations. Here are all of the details. First I used my Heartfelt Creations Gateway dies to cut my layers from white and Luxe Gold Cardstock. To create my card base I folded a piece of white cardstock in half and die cut it using the largest die from the set, making sure to keep the card’s fold intact. I stamped and die cut all of the Wisteria images using Ranger Archival Ink- Coffee onto white cardstock, and added colour to the branches and flowers using Zig Clean Color Markers and a waterbrush. I added colour to the leaves using Ranger Distress Oxide Ink andΒ  Heartfelt Creations Stack and Store Daubers. I shaped all of the flowers and leaves slightly using my shaping tool and…

I have been using the Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essential system for over a year now. I have a mix of Planner Essential Dies and Art Journal Dies, they give me endless options. Once I get started creating I find it hard to go to bed, they really push me to think creatively and their dies allow me to use up supplies in really unique ways. For this two-page spread, I used the Celebrate Autumn Collection from Echo Park Paper Co. It’s an older collection with a fabulous colour scheme. I can’t resist teal and yellow.Β  One of the fun items in the Echo Park Paper Co. collections is the Journaling Cards. These cards transition easily into actual pockets and tags with Elizabeth Craft Designs dies. For this spread, I used the journaling cards in two ways. Most obviously, I used an Elizabeth Craft Designs Planner Essentials die to cut…

Hello Creative Scrapbookers! Kim here! Have you ever thought about how you start a layout? Are you consistent or do you mix it up? I mix it up! Sometimes I love to start with a sketch or a particular photo may inspire me and sometimes I like to choose the product first. The project I’m sharing today was all about using my stash of Stampers Anonymous stamps! Please note…no patterned paper was harmed in the process! I pulled out a sheet of CSM Super Stock [primed with a thin layer of gesso] and brayered on some with some Distress Inks. I love the texture the brayer creates! I then removed some of the ink with a stencil and baby wipe.Next, I layered on some stamps of various patterns. This process of making a background is so fun and very relaxing. In the wise words of Seth Apter…if you don’t love…

Hello, Connie Nichol here today with a couple of cards I created with the Ruffled Peony Bouquet stamp set from Picket Fence Studios.Β  Picket Fence Studios is a family run business out of Louisiana and they manufacture some simply stunning stamps and stencils.Β  Use the entire peony bouquet on the card, or snip out one or two flowers and some extra leaves.Β  Ah, peonies.Β  Makes me think of spring. I stamped onto watercolour paper using Ranger embossing ink and heat embossed with black embossing powder.Β  Β I coloured the image withΒ  Nuvo watercolor pencils from Tonic Studios..I then added a touch of glitter and more intense colour with Kirarich glitter highlighters from Zebra Pen.Β  These highlighter pens were just the perfect shade for my peony flowers and leaves. I used Tonic Studios Craft Perfect mirror and glitter cardstock from this mixed cardstock pack for my card base.Β  I have a weakness…

Okay, I LOVE the Carta Bella Paper Co. En Vogue collection! The soft matte muted colours, the” fashionista” images, the Paris feel, the lipstick, the purses, the dresses, and more! This collection is super playful and really easy to design with! Here is a cute little layout I put together in literally an hour! I also had some fun trying out some new pens. Zebra Sarasa Fine Felt Tip Pens. I used this pen for the journaling and some decorative lines. It was perfect! The final touch – I adhered everything together with a combination of Glue Dots Super Strength Gluetape and All-Purpose Dots to add some dimension here and there. I almost always start a layout by looking at a sketch! Here is the sketch that I based my layout on, designed by Kerry Engel. I turned the sketch on its side. Remember to do that when you are…

Hi, Connie Nichol here today with a few cards that I created using the Tea Time collection from Heartfelt Creations.Β  These were super quick to make using the elegant teapot and floral stampsΒ  along with the premade card fronts in the paper collection.Β  As usual, this collection has beautiful pastel colours and lovely floral accents. I stamped the images using Ranger Archival Black Ink, cut out the images with the matching dies and coloured with Tim Holtz distress markers and Stickles glitter glue.Β  Stickles makes everything extra pretty. I put everything together with Glue Dots adhesives.Β  I love the pop up dots for giving my teapots a little added dimension. Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful and creative day!

Hello crafty friends! Tracy here and today I have a pretty little layout to share and a card I also created using some leftover bits and pieces featuring Echo Park Paper Co. Scrapbook Adhesives by 3L AND the Brother ScanNCut SDX125Here are all of the details. The first step was to create my simple layered background. White cardstock 10.5×10.5, yellow cardstock 11×11 and the pink plaid is the full 12×12. I cropped the photo to 4×4 and matted it in white cardstock, and added Creative Photo Corners White. Then cut 2 patterned mats that I distressed the edges on. Adhere these layers together. Add the matted photo and a couple of strips of patterned paper to the left-hand side of the layout using the E-Z Runner Grand and Crafty Foam Tape. I then added a few cardstock sticker embellishments around the layout, including the title in the bottom right-hand corner.…
